Description

Plantain egg - application and properties of shells (husks) and seeds

Plantain ovoid is a plant that is widely used in herbal medicine. It is a valuable source of fiber that positively affects problems with the digestive tract. Its seeds and shells, also called scales, have a healing effect. Their pro-health properties make the plantain a valuable dietary supplement.

The natural habitat of the plantain is the Mediterranean basin, especially Spain, because this plant likes sunny areas with access to water. It is small and its spherical inflorescences resemble cylindrical spikes and are light green or light yellow in color. Plantain ovoid has characteristic hairy leaves with a lanceolate shape. Unfortunately, it happens that after contact with the skin they cause allergy or irritation. Plantain ovoid is a plant highly valued in natural medicine and herbal medicine, its shells (husks) and seeds show the most beneficial properties.

Plantain seed The plantain fruit is a bag containing small light brown and boat-shaped seeds, which are a source of natural antioxidants. Plantain inflorescences are harvested, threshed and dried, preferably in natural conditions. In addition to fiber, they also contain:

  • proteins,
  • fats,
  • Aukubin,
  • phytosterols.

Psyllium husk The husk of the plantain that surrounds the seeds is rich in acidic mucus compounds that have a strong laxative effect. It is thanks to the fiber that the psyllium husk can absorb water and toxins. After swelling, it supports the process of removing intestinal deposits.

Properties of plantain ovoid Both the shells (husks) of the plantain and its seeds are excellent means that support the work of the intestines. By showing laxative properties, they simultaneously soften and increase the volume of the entire intestinal mass. It is this pressure on the intestinal walls that improves their peristalsis, which facilitates defecation.

At the same time, the plantain is also anti-diarrheal, as it absorbs excess fluid from the intestinal mass. However, thanks to its properties, plantain is recommended not only for diarrhea and constipation, it also has an effect:

  • lowering cholesterol, blood pressure and sugar,
  • fighting hemorrhoids,
  • eliminating varicose veins (especially after treatments and surgeries),
  • supporting digestive disorders,
  • protective and prebiotic,
  • slimming (provides a feeling of fullness).

Application of goby The eggplant can be taken in powdered form, as an oral solution, or in the form of granules or pharmacological tablets. However, it is worth using the shells (husks) with seeds naturally along with drinks and meals. They work well as ingredients and additives for:

  • soups,
  • sauces,
  • yoghurt,
  • breakfast cereals,
  • fruit,
  • salads.

You can also make plantain by pouring hot water over a tablespoon of seeds. After it has cooled down, the resulting drink can be drunk. Decoction, i.e. boiled seeds, is also effective.
