Use of Darjeeling Earl Gray

Hot: For hot enjoyment, pour a tablespoon of Darjeeling over a liter of water and let the tea steep for about four minutes.

Refined: Earl Gray tea is not just a pleasure on its own: it can also be rounded off with a little milk, lemon or honey, as long as the fine taste of the bergamot is not masked.

Cold: The fine, fruity Earl Gray Darjeeling ensures a successful refreshment even when cooled. For this purpose, one to two tablespoons of the tea are poured over one liter of cold water and placed in the refrigerator for at least six hours. Then the cold brewed black tea can be seasoned with lemon and ice.

Interesting facts, origin & extraction

Earl Gray is not a tea in its own right, but the name of a flavored black tea blend. For the characteristic, fruity taste of the tea, the black tea is originally perfumed with bergamot oil. It is a hybrid of different citrus fruits. Your oil has a slightly bitter, fresh note. Today, instead of the oil, flavorings with a similar taste are often used for flavoring.
