Decaffeinated Coffee

Brazil Santos coffee is one of the most popular and best-selling specialty coffees.
Due to its delicate taste, it will be a great choice for anyone who wants to start their adventure with coffee tasting. The main flavors of this coffee are chocolate and nut, but after cooling, a delicate marzipan flavor emerges. Its sweet aroma comes from the oldest method of obtaining grains - drying in full sun. Carefully selected and then medium-roasted beans of Brazil Santos have a relatively low acidity and delicate bitterness - its taste is a classic known all over the world, so it is worth starting the exploration of the world of flavors and aromas.

Santos is the most famous and valuable region for the Brazilian raw coffee market, because this is where the largest port in South America, from which coffee is shipped all over the world, is located. Brazilians believe that a cup of this unique variety of coffee brings something more - peace of mind.

Coffee in the process of decaffeination is almost completely devoid of caffeine, which makes it even milder - it is suitable for people with high sensitivity of the circulatory system and pregnant women who do not want to give up its unique taste.

It is also chosen by people who, thanks to the almost completely reduced caffeine content, can enjoy delicious coffee more often :)

Decaffeinated coffee and its properties

Coffee is the most consumed drink on the planet and loved by millions of consumers. Although it has many useful properties, when consumed excessively, it can cause undesirable side effects in people particularly sensitive to the caffeine contained in it, showing the stimulating effect of the nervous system.

Therefore, people suffering from insomnia, due to anxiety or high blood pressure, more often choose decaffeinated coffee with a lower caffeine content than natural coffee, because it is largely devoid of it through the use of various extraction methods.

Caffeine extraction methods

Coffee decaffeination involves exposing green coffee beans to a solvent which is then removed. Of the existing extraction methods, the most common are those involving the use of food-tested chemical solvents, gases such as supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2), or the removal of caffeine by soaking green coffee beans in hot water.

Over the years, the production processes for decaffeinated coffee have been continuously refined, and those used today allow the removal of at least 95 percent of the caffeine contained in coffee beans while maintaining a taste and aroma similar to that of natural coffee.

Properties of decaffeinated coffee

  • Decaffeinated coffee is rich in vitamin B2 and B3, and the latter is the most in coffee, because 100 g of this infusion contains as much as 28.63 mg of vitamin B3 and about 1.36 mg of vitamin B2.
  • It is a source of nutrients, including magnesium, of which it contains the highest amounts.
  • Potassium is also a large percentage - for every 100 g of coffee there is as much as 3501 mg of potassium.
  • Decaffeinated coffee has valuable nutrients in the form of ingredients such as iron, protein and sodium, among others.

Decaffeinated coffee and its benefits

Due to the high content of potassium, decaffeinated coffee is beneficial for people with hypertension, because by regulating blood pressure, it has a positive effect on good circulation, additionally supporting the proper functioning of body fluids.

According to research, it has been proven that consuming low-caffeine coffee, in some cases, can prevent rheumatic diseases, arthritis and even certain types of diabetes. Its properties have a beneficial effect on health, soothe headaches, including migraine headaches, help maintain eye health and improve the appearance of the skin.

Thanks to its advantages, decaffeinated coffee is gaining more and more supporters, especially among people with hypertension, anxiety and especially sensitive to the effects of caffeine, which can cause insomnia when consumed in large amounts or immediately before bedtime.

Going even further, research is being carried out to find a way to obtain decaffeinated coffee in a completely natural way, namely directly from the plantation, by genetically modifying the coffee tree, thus achieving the same beans without caffeine content. The goal is to create better-quality decaffeinated coffee, the taste of which is similar to those that distinguish natural coffee.
