What types of black pepper are there
The selection of black pepper varieties is almost inexhaustible. Are you looking for a high-quality pepper for everyday use? Then you have come to the right place with the black Malabar pepper or the slightly larger Tellicherry pepper. If, on the other hand, you are looking for something special and unique, for example for the finish of a juicy steak on a wonderful barbecue evening, we can recommend Tasmanian pepper or black Kampot pepper. The variety of flavors ranges from fruity to sweet and cinnamon-like to intensely spicy. With our black pepper varieties you will find the right companion for every recipe.
How does the black pepper get its color
Like green pepper, black pepper is made from the green berries of the pepper bush. The pepper berries are harvested when they are unripe (green) or just before they are ripe. Unlike green pepper, black pepper is dried without any additional aids. Over time, the peppercorns lose their color and become wrinkled and black.
